Check his bank statements
The first thing you can do is to have your lawyer request that he turn in his bank statements. By comparing his paychecks to the deposits on his bank statements, you might be able to find extra money. His deposits should not be more than his bank statements because if they are, he may be making more money than he is claiming.
Another thing to look at on the bank statements are his recent payments. Is he making his car payment, mortgage, and credit card bills? If you cannot find these types of payments on the statements and you know he is making the payments, it is likely that he is paying cash for them instead of using the money in his bank account.
Look into recent payoffs

If not, he may have paid cash for the trip. You can also look into major purchases he has recently obtained, and it might be a good idea to look carefully at his savings accounts.
